great post; for me there’s context of what the external factors are. Is this person new into a role, is the manager, is the delivery they’re working at that time something new, considered BAU? This fits well in the context of situational leadership
Amazing post, John. For the first time I actually heard someone describing in detail what I felt. Like the comment below, I ask for a part 2 :) Once you've acknowledged the problem, how to fix it?
Excellent post John. I recently experienced this exact thing. I left disheartened and confused. Perhaps I was more disappointed in the poor leadership show by my manager.
Dealing with this exact situation at work with my manager.
I have a performance review coming up where I need to figure out how to ask “what even are my goals” effectively, because I feel lost. Hard to figure out if this means I’m not a good fit for this role, or if other need a shift around me for the fit to work. It translates to know knowing what’s a problem and what’s a perception, and leads to paralysis at the idea of having to fix so much at one time.
Great post!

Feeling inadequate at your job, is a deep sentiment to unpack. Any tips?
Did I miss or skip over something?
