Great read on goal cascades! It's so true that stable metrics can make a big difference. Speaking of stability and goals, after a long day of strategizing, I unwind with some fun gaming. Have you tried play Sans Fight Game at sansfight.io? It's a cool way to relax and challenge yourself!

Great rhythm and challenging gameplay! Even though it's simple, https://friday-nightfunkin.io is really addictive and makes me want to play more.

I think you got it about right this time, John. Thank you. I love the clear differentiation and relationships between “bets” and stable and/or lagging metrics, at the team level. Bets might be things like getting someone to engage with your product at all, while metrics might be the persistence and effectiveness/value (for them) of that engagement.

So many thoughts!

1) People confusing product and project. At my job I’m considered to be working on projects, and I’m not. I’m product and specifically implementation. I have a defined “thing” that I create, roll off to another team, and create it again for another person.

2) Your visuals of metrics and bets are perfect. Going to make a giant sticker for my laptop for enterprise to be mad about

3) Goals cascading - it’s a pretty way to say “shove this square peg into a round hole.” I have a few goals in my ADP for the year which make no sense for me, but I have to figure something out to do with them.
