(I'm writing this knowing full well I perpetuate some of these problems. I'm not happy about it. I can do better. I slipped into writing a lot about the North Star Framework, and I can do a better job writing about all the prior work). Very few frameworks are completely new. They may be new to the creator, use new words, and have a unique spin. But there's a good chance most of the ideas exist elsewhere.

Your post is very timely in that a lot of writers when referencing 'jobs to be done' always/usually quote and credit the late Professor Clayton Christensen with the concept. Though there is a whole history where Antony Ulwick is one of the progenitors and significant contributors to this concept. In my article on substack I share an archive video showing Clayton and Tony talking about the origins of 'jobs to be done' and how they co-evolved the idea.
